British newspaper Daily Mirror published a list of 10 most popular diets. Leading dietician of Great Britain, medical adviser of a national Rugby team, doctor Adam Carey decided to estimate their efficiency. Doctor Carey estimated all diets on a 10-mark scale. It is necessary to notice at once that 10 points were received by any of offered weight loss systems.
1. Plan Slimfast
Promises: Dump a half a kilogramme in a week
Theory: the Diet from Slimfast company consists in replacement of foodstuff. Twice a day you eat special Slimfast products - dairy cocktails, pastes, soups and bars. One more snack is permitted. The third food intake is a high-grade dinner from low-fat products.
Pluses: Ready dietary products are convenient for use and are sated by minerals and vitamins.
Minuses: you will go mad of desire to eat normally. This diet will not help you to keep a normal shape, as it does not learn to eutrophy.
Verdict of doctor Carey - 5 from 10. It is a forgery. At correct observance you will really lose a couple of kgs, but the basis of this diet is a grocery dust.
2. Beverly Hills diet
Promises: From 4,5 to 6 kgs for 35 days
Theory: the Diet is constructed round strict observance of sequence of food acceptance. It is possible to eat certain products only in strictly certain sequence during certain time. It is necessary to consume many fruits. Proteins in no event cannot be mixed with carbohydrates. It prevents fat accumulation. The first 10 days include only fruits. For 11th day it is possible to add carbohydrates, and on 19th - proteins.

Minuses: Hungry faints, loss of concentration of attention, dizziness. Dangerously small maintenance of complex carbohydrates, protein, vitamins and minerals.
Verdict of doctor Carey: 1 from 10. You lose not weight, but muscular weight. You exhaust yourself and break natural metabolism.
4. A hay diet.
Promises: up to 6,5 kg a month.
Theory: a diet basis - an interdiction for simultaneous consumption of starch and proteins. A protein breakfast and a dinner sated with starch. You should eat more lettuce and vegetables, than proteins and starch. Any processed products and milk.
Pluses: Fast weight loss. You eat many vegetables and fruits.
Minuses: inconsistent concept of a combination of products. This system contains no nutrients.
Verdict of doctor Carey: 0 from 10. It is delirium at its finest. The unique reason on which you lose weight, is a restriction on the use of certain products.
5. Slimming World
Promises: up to 6,5 kg for 5 weeks.
Theory: the diet is based on weekly meetings with “leader” which defines what you can eat. In “green” days it is possible to eat paste, rice, potato, beans and fruits. Sometimes stockfish and meat. In “red” days a meal should be sated by proteins. Also there is a list of food you can eat any day.
Pluses: you will not starve.
Minuses: the idea of “green” and “red” days can be dangerous to your health.
Verdict of doctor Carey: 5 from 10. No scientific basis. You follow silly and senseless councils.
6. Rosemary Conley diet.
Promises: up to 1 kg a week.
Theory: you sharply reduce consumption of fat-containing products and start to eat many vegetables. You can eat potato, meat and dairy products in strictly limited portions. A food thrice, and snacks are allowed. An obligatory complex of physical exercises.
Pluses: No tiresome calculation of calories and possibility to eat unlimited quantity of some products.
Minuses: It is necessary to watch fat consumption. The lack of fat can be perceived by organism badly.
Verdict: 8 from 10. Traditional and quite reasonable diet. It is very good that it includes physical exercises.
7. Weightwatchers diet.
Promises: up to 1 kg a week.
Theory: At weekly meetings you weigh and give advice about food. Each type of meal is defined quantity of points. Each participant of the program receives the maximum of points, proceeding from the weight, growth and a way of life. According to this system, it is possible to combine food as you like.
Pluses: growing thin in group is always more cheerful. You should not eat substitutes.
Minuses: you will lose weight slowly and long.
Verdict of doctor Carey: 6 from 10. The diet is based entirely on calculation of calories. It is long and tiresomely. You will gain dumped weight back very quickly.
8. A zone diet
Promises: About 1 kg a week.
Theory: Followers of this diet consider that various food differently influences hormonal condition of an organism and level of insulin, which answers for fat adjournment. The diet means high consumption of protein and low consumption of carbohydrates. If you observe balance between protein, fat and hydrocarbons you burn fat.
Pluses: Fast weight loss in first two weeks. It is possible to eat food with high maintenance of protein, for example, stake.
Minuses: it contains not enough hydrocarbons - means, not enough energy. Not enough cellulose and vitamins.

9. Atkins diet
Promises: 6,5 kg for a month.

10. Curves International diet
Promises: Constant weight reduction without necessity to stick to a diet.
Theory: After two weeks of low-carbohydrate and high-proteinic diet, you can come back to normal food. Diet founders believe that organism is capable to remember such diet and reconstruct metabolism. Still it will be necessary to work a little.
Pluses: Fast results, especially for elderly women, who do not love physical exercises.
Minuses: If you do not adhere to recommendations of authors of a diet, it is possible to gain superfluous kgs.
Verdict of doctor Carey: 6 from 10. The worthy diet combining elements of a Atkins diet with original receptions. However, existence of Curves company dietary products pushes on thought that it is simply a way to earn money.
