Daily ration during the first part of pregnancy should contain 2400 - 2700 kilocalories.

It includes:

110 g of protein
Food should be rich in proteins of full value. Proteins - are the basic building material for the fetus growing. A basic source of protein is meat. It’s better to eat boiled meat. Poultry, fish, eggs, beans, nuts and seeds are also rich in protein. Every day you should eat cottage cheese, sour cream, cheese and milk. 50% of common quantity of proteins should be animal proteins.

75 g of fat
Fats also serve as a source of energy, moreover, take part in forming of prostaglandins - matters influencing cardio-vascular and digestive systems, and influence birth activity during childbirth. Oil contains the majority of fats. There should be 40% of vegetable oil in a pregnant woman’s ration. Of animal fats, butter is recommended. Don’t eat suet and margarine.

350 g of carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy, used during metabolism, in organism. While the lack of carbohydrates, organism begins using proteins as a sourse of energy. As a result, less proteins come to fetus, and it worsens its development. Moreover, resistive capacity of organism reduces, and nervous system work worsens. It’s better to receive carbohydrates from products, rich in cellulose: bread, fruits, vegetables. The quantity of sugar should consist of 40-50 g daily.

The second part of pregnancy
During the second part of pregnancy, fetus is growing quickly, loading on all mother’s organs and systems increases, so, a common quantity of food she takes should be increased.

During the last 2 months, a pregnant woman shouldn’t eat saulty, piquant, smoked and canned food. Try not to eat prepared food. As a rule, these products are rich in calories, but contain little nutritious substances, necessary to you and your baby.

Daily ration during the second part of pregnancy should contain 2800 - 3000 kilocalories.
