It’s time to think about
hits of
winter fashion and prepare for an inexorably approaching cold season. Moreover, today’s
fashion trends are quite democratic and able to present us many positive emotions.
Wild fur
Like several seasons one after another, this winter is marked with a clear designers’ sympathy for furs. Political correctness is forgotten for a while, and catwalks are filled with classic furs, fur-coats and jackets.

There’re several important signs: firstly, fur is really
expensive and even
luxurious; secondly, fur looks absolutely
natural; thirdly, fur is used almost everywhere with great skill and courtliness (there’re even quite elegant
fur skirts).
If you prefer absolutely fur things, then this season they should definitely have big collars, better with unusual cutting, cuffs, wide sleeves, asymmetrical foreparts, deep wrap over and even big hoods. All this creates a feeling of comfort, warmth, what is very useful for winter.
Even if you treat fur things rather cautiously and consider them a so-called bad form, born only due to a striving for an unbridled display of luxury, then another actual trend of this season will suit you well. You know, fur can be really called a main decorative element of winter female wardrobe.
Furring (accentuated, creating not only aesthetic impression, but also a real comfort) is used on coats, jackets, bags, boots, gloves, belts and jumpers. Necklets and muffs still hold their positions.
Remembering eighties
This fashionable period pierces many collections of this season with bright sparkles. But on the threshold of a cold season one of them is especially interesting - a usual jacket’s triumphal return in the world of Haute Couture. Here it is - big, volumetric, of bright colors - it became a sign of the eighties. Then it was pressed by a classical coat.
But, it seems, everybody is finally bored with this classics. You know, more democratic jacket gives much wider expanse for creative fancy. Besides, basing on silhouettes of democratic eighties, designers managed to play up very refined images in actual jackets - from Napoleonic France to medieval Gothic.
As a result, usual jackets from Dolce & Gabbana have officer’s carved buttons and epaulettes, jackets from Salvatore Ferragamo resemble King’s coats of much later times, and Emanuel Ungaro uses refined collars and cuffs and also puffed sleeves.
And still, most famous Fashion Houses show modern variants of half-blazers of different length, which people gladly wore in the eighties. However, today they can be made of most expensive and elegant materials (starting from brocade and velvet), with complicated d?©cor in the form of applications and embroideries. And if you also add here a big furred hood, then it becomes clear: such jacket will replace even a fur successfully in a dank and cold weather.
Lengthen your stride
It’s clear that such jackets should be combined with trousers. And in general, this better corresponds to approaching bad weather, is more comfortable and practical. You know, most bosses have nothing against women in trousers. So, it’s quite time to think about a hit of winter fashion in this sense.
And various designers (Bottega Veneta, Burberry, Calvin Klein, Chanel, Costume National, Hermes and others) offer us loose trousers, bell-bottomed, made of soft, warm materials of calm colors for this winter. And they are almost absolutely deprived of any decorative elements (pockets, lapels, insets of other materials). I.e. maximum effect of elegance and comfort is achieved first of all due to an accurate cutting and successful silhouette.
Besides big volumetric jackets, big comfortable volumetric knitted things (which will be a real hit this winter) also look great with such trousers. Jercey won almost all things from female wardrobe, and D&G made a collection of knitted things - from bags to shoes, from gloves to trousers.
Knitted things of coming winter are firstly marked with volume, even visual softness, monochromatic coloring, complicated cutting. Thus, jumpers and sweaters have unusual mouth, complicated big collars (sometimes turning to scarves), very long sleeves (by the way, designers advise not to tuck them). Another peculiarity is that they recommend wearing such things one on another and with a decorative, accentuated belt.
Shine of leather
Gothic motives in autumn-winter collections inevitably had to lead to rebirth of interest towards leather things. Leather coats, jackets, trousers in dark color spectrum (black, grey, brown) resemble military uniform of some medieval lance-knights, especially in combination with very high lace-boots of soft leather.
But you still should not search only obscure medieval motives in leather things of this season. Designers enjoy possibilities of leather and natural fur. That’s why today you can see both smooth and patent leather, pressed or mat, with spattering or reptile texture. And color should not be only boring black or brown, it also can be baked milk (Luella) or poppy (DSquared2).
Well, plenty of leather coats (of most varied silhouettes - from straight trench coats to short A-shape silhouette) can be called a peculiarity of coming season, and also furred. And remember, quite recently leather coats were practically ignored by designers. So, make hay!
