During recent years we were so keen on “natural” make-up, that we already forgot about such cosmetic, like blusher. Make-up artists offer using powder or foundations of several darker tones, various correctors??¦ eye-shadows (of same natural palette) at best.

And you still should not forget about blusher. Make-up likes rosy cheeks this autumn and offers us considering this trend.

You know, our ancestors liked rouge a lot, while decorating their faces. But they used so harmful substances for it, that, according to experts, they damaged their health a lot.

However, this does not mean that we should fear past mistakes today. You know, modern cosmetics pass lots of tests and gain more and more useful qualities (for example, they become hypoallergic). Besides, fresh rosy cheeks are just a sign of good health. And that’s why we try looking this way instinctively.

You could see quite interesting make-up variants on many fashion shows. Eccentric models from Alessandro Dell’Acqua and Jean Paul Gaultier, romantic Chloe and Diane Von Furstenberg, democratic DSquared2 were accompanied by very similar variant of make-up.

Cheek-bones are slightly accentuated, but tone is very delicate. Thus, fashion house Givenchy considers: you can gain such effect only using 3-4 tones of powder at the same time and refusing from blusher at all. And Clarins offers using a whole palette of blusher - from very light to a darker tone (firstly apply lighter tones, and then accentuate separate places with darker ones).

As strong woman is a favorite model for make-up artists today, they use lots of graphic elements in this image - edgy eyebrows, black eye palette, various Gothic arrows, strict lip contour. That’s why they offer accentuating cheek-bones using light changes of tones, not abrupt strokes of blusher.

And the task is to “mould” a face better and more successful using color, not demonstrating girlish blushing ruddiness or erotic exciting blazing of cheeks. Actual make-up has both pluses and minuses, as it requires many efforts, but the result rather impresses. It’s difficult to gain even shading of tone, smooth passage from cheek-bones to cheeks.

Most actual shades today are pink tones, turning to natural, of slightly tanned skin (tanned skin of blondes, not swarthy brunettes). By the way, experts consider that they are universal and suit women of any age.

Here’s even more interesting variant, when blusher palette coincides with lips palette. You could see examples on autumn-winter fashion show collection from Alessandro Dell’Acqua. They accentuated Gothic eyes in a very dark palette, and whity-pink lips were almost of the same color with cheek-bones. But, of course, clear Gothic is represented in make-up from Jean Paul Gaultier, where you can see same accent on dark eye-sockets on pale cheek-bones and accentuated spots of pink blusher on them.

And still, blusher is firstly used to model your face. Visagistes have been using it this way during last years. And even if we think we see an absolutely “natural” make-up, in fact light strokes of blusher really present in it. We always knew well-known classic traditional variants:

For example, a light stroke of blusher on point of nose or along bridge of nose makes a woman’s nose more refined and thin; if you apply such stroke on lobe of ear, then this, strangely enough, will accentuate look on eyes (of course, if it is open). And a stroke of blusher under chin will visually correct its shape and make a so-called “facelift”.

Remember, these are cheek-bones that add sculptural clearness to face. And you can receive the best effect only if you create hollows under cheek-bones successfully. Find a natural hollow between a cheek-bone and jaw in place where upper teeth end, - here you should apply the darkest and most intensive tone of blusher, shading it towards lobe. This way you can lose several kilograms of weight visually.

If you need to “draw your face” quickly or correct make-up, there’re lots of variants. For example, when you rouge lips, you can use lipstick as blusher at the same time: firstly, it is rather rich and will fall well; secondly, it can be shadowed by fingers well, and this is very important now, as we already said; thirdly, lipstick usually contains pearl elements, which add additional glimmer to your skin on cheek-bones; and, fourthly, another actual trend is observed - coincidence of tones of cheek-bones and lips.

By the way, dry powdery blusher can be also used as powder for lips, if you want to create a mat effect, or to change a color of your lipstick and add new shade to it.
