Japanese researchers discovered that green tea prolongs life

Japanese researchers discovered that green tea prolongs life.

Green tea prolongs life, reduces death-rate and makes heart healthier. Japanese doctors  came to such conclusions, after they investigated more than 40 000 men and women.

The research revealed that green tea becomes especially medicinal in case of heart diseases. Several cups a day - and risk of suffering from some cardio-vascular disease is lowered abruptly.

In general, number of participants, who died of cardio-vascular diseases for a covered period, in general, was quite low: less than 1% in each category of people, who drank green tea. They found no other connection between other sorts of tea - first of all black and oolong - and death-rate.

Cancer and cardio-vascular diseases - are 2 main reasons of death-rate all over the world, and all sorts of tea - are most popular drinks after water. However, Japanese researchers don’t know what to recommend to their compatriots, who mostly adore green tea and drink it constantly without any recommendations.

Japanese researchers are not the only ones who investigaed wholesome effect of food products and drinks. Such information appears almost every day. For example, recently doctors managed to advise a substitute for antibiotics in the form of cranberry juice and eating mandarines to protect liver.

During first investigation American scientists managed to decode biochemical organisms, underlying in numerous wholesome qualities of cranberry juice. Its ability to prevent bacillosis and, in particular, urinary tract infections, is known long ago.

Meanwhile, Japanese scientists discovered that mandarines reduce risk of liver cancer development, acute viral hepatitis, diabetes and cardio-vascular diseases on almost 9 %. Medicinal qualities of this fruit are explained by high content of carotene - vitamin A. At the same time, researchers themselves accentuate, that they investigated a very small group of people, and it’s necessary to continue researches.

But coffee still remains a main object of investigations.

A cup of coffee can make a person more compliant, and in some cases it will even make him change his point of view, as Australian scientists, who investigated 40 volunteers, consider. Drinking 4 cups of coffee per day reduces risk of cirrhosis on 80%, and diabetes - on 22%, as American scientists consider. It is considered, that coffee can provoke a heart attack, however, its connection with increase of arterial pressure - is rather a moot point.

The matter is that caffeine, contained in tea leaves, cocoa beans, coffee seeds and cola nuts, is a classic stimulant, from medical point of view. Coffee makes excitation signals from outside influencing organism stronger - heart beat becomes more rapid, gastric juice is secreted strenuously, sweating can start.
Misuse of any stimulant is harmful for health, so quantity of potential researches, connected with coffee drinking, is, obviously, endless.

Strangely enough, this drink cannot save one from cancer, as it was supposed earlier after a number of previous researches on animals.

According to authors, medicinal effect of green tea is connected with polyphenols - vegetable substances, influencing like antioxidants. But noone still could understood the way polyphenols act. Probably, they set natural antioxidative mechanisms of organism going or reduce activity of free radicals in a body, which destroy cells. And according to one of versions, they even prevent inflammational processes in blood vessels.
The research was carried out since 1994 on North-East of Japan, in the area, where 80% of population drink green tea and more than 50% drink at least 3 cups per day. People in the age from 40 to 79 years were investigated, who did not suffer from blood-strokes, cancer and heart diseases.

Those, who drank 5 (0,5 liter) and more cups of green tea per day, died more seldom, then those, who drink only a cup per day. Death-rates, especially of heart diseases, of green tea lovers turned 16% less for 11 years. And during first 7 years this index was even higher - 26%.

Cardiological effect is more marked in women. In all probability, this is because men smoke more often, as authors consider.
