Researchers discovered long ago, that tall people earn more money, than their lower colleagues. Now it turns out that the matter is not only in social discrimination - tall people are just more intelligent.
“In the age of thee and during whole childhood, taller children show significantly better results in tests”, - scientists write in their research.Received data are based first of all on two other British researches, during which scientists have been observing a group of people, born in 1958 and 1970, for many years, and also on an American research, dedicated to growth and choice of profession, Reuters inform.Other researches showed low feeling of self-esteem, better state of health, and also social discrimination as reasons for low people earning less money. However, scientists suppose, that the advantage of tall people on work - is more, than just a question of image: “Growing up, taller people choose more high-paid work, which requires more advanced oral and numerical skills, and also great intellect”.Both for men and women in USA additional 10 cm of height on average meant 10% increase of wages.
But researchers say, that differences in achievements are determined long before tall people enter working life. Pre-natal care and time between birth and 3 years age - are critical periods for determination of future cognitive abilities and growth. “During this period speed of growth is bigger, than in any other period during life, and food needs are biggest during this period”, - researchers write. Results of the research confirm results of previous observations, which showed that nutrition in early age - is an important factor for intellect and growth. “Pre-natal care and pre-natal nutrition are incredibly important, even more, than we thought”.But, as data, used in the research, included only population of Great Britain and USA, received results cannot be applied to other regions.
