Female body can be compared with the clock. That is, every period of life has its own physiological characteristics. And if a woman is healthy, biological processes take place as planned. Accordingly, education in this field should be necesary for any respecting woman. Her health and future life, family life and children planning depend on it. Ovulation is one of these processes. Once a girl reaches 10-12 years old, she begins experiencing a hormonal body alteration, ovulation is one of important stages of this period.
Women physiology and ovulation
From 10-12 years, a woman has a reproductive period, that is, her body is ready for pregnancy and birth of offspring, the first sign - appearance of first menstruation. Then, every month, from year to year, until menopause, she continues experiencing cyclical changes in ovaries and inner layer of uterus (endometrium), which is a menstrual cycle. Each woman has individual cycle, but if you take an average, it is 24-35 days. In the middle of a monthly cycle, counting from the first day of the month and before the next menses, ovulation occurs, determining a woman’s favorable and unfavorable days for conception. Under the age of 47-55 years, with the onset of menopause, menstruation ceases, that is, a woman can no longer become pregnant.
Ovulation - phases and features
To understand what is ovulation, you need to consider carefully the structure of female internal genital organs and processes in them. These are: vagina, fallopian tubes, uterus, ovaries, and the appendages of the ovary. Each body is fulfilling its role, without which a woman is not a woman. Since the moment of puberty, all woman’s bodies begin to fully carry out their mission - to prepare the body for child bearing. Confirmation of this, as already mentioned above, is the emergence of a monthly menstrual period (standard is 28 days). If a woman has no abnormalities, her menstrual cycle is divided into two phases, 14 days each.
The first phase - 14 days, preparation of the body to conception. At that point, the pituitary is working out major hormones, intensely affecting menstrual cycle.
Follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) promotes ovary maturation. But only the most mature egg has a chance to be in the fallopian tube. Each egg develops in the follicle, resembling bubbles. At the time of growth, follicle begins excreting estrogen in blood, preparing cells to uterine lining thickening for possible implantation of a fertilized egg. Such processes are reflected in a woman’s exterior and her behavior very clearly. Increased estrogen literally makes a woman physically active, reduces the likelihood of depression, as they say “beauty is on her face.”
Luteinizing hormone (LH) - due to its increasing concentration, that comes at the middle of menstrual cycle, there happens a break of already mature follicle. So mature egg comes into abdominal cavity, then enters the fallopian tube. This point is called ovulation, from Latin ovum - an egg. For woman that is planning a child, the day of ovulation is considered the most auspicious moment for conception.
