We use creams and lotions, blusher and gloss, looking forward to an excellent result. But sometimes, when we apply, spread and shadow all this, the result is the opposite. Indeed, small variations can completely change your appearance.

So, we’ll talk about 8 most common make-up mistakes.

1. Shadows in eye folds

During a day, shadows are rolling down in eyelids and accumulated in eye folds. Make-up gets spiled, and your appearance becames very tired and untidy. To avoid this, you need to correct makeup throughout a day.

2. Concealer on problem areas

Concealer is designed to mask dark circles under eyes, and should be one or two tones darker skin. Therefore, do not use concealer to hide problem areas (spots, rash, fatty tumours): it will only underscore shortcomings of skin. Color corrector will help you shade a suddenly appeared spot, its tint should match your daily foundation cream exactly (it is better to buy products of one line). Apply some tone on a spot, shadow slightly with fingertips ball and apply foundation.

3. Several layers of mascara

To create an effect of “attractive eyelashes” fashion magazines recommend to apply mascara in several layers. As a result, we are seeing ladies with sticked eyelashes that bristle in different directions and their mascara crumbles with flakes. Apply mascara in a single layer - this way makeup will look more natural. To give an effect of long and thick eyelashes, every respectful cosmetic company invented special tools.

Too much mascara makes your eyelids heavy as a stone. Your eyes may be fine, but lashes stay dry, heavy, and mascara will crumble. To avoid this, do not use mascara, which you have stored for a long time. If your mascara is over 3 months, it has already dried, and then will lay in a thick and uneven layer. The more creamy your mascara is, the better. If you applied two or three layers, and this is not enough, then you have a bad mascara.

4. Blue shadows a-la “Greetings from the 60’s”

Make-up is subject to fashion trends, as much as our clothes. Vintage makeup is good for photo, but in life you need to look either true, or strictly classical. There is no need to apply a thick layer of blue shadows: such make-up is not vintage and will not give you any elegance.

5. Non-removed make-up

Do not taunt your skin! It feels so hard: it is daily suffocating under a layer of cosmetics and suffering from unfavorable environment. Makeup should be removed before going to bed with help of special tools. Besides, after sleeping your makeup will look several years “older” - this way skin will avenge humiliation.

6. Your lips are too pale

Undoubtedly, make-up a la naturelle is very popular now. But women over 30 need to be very accurate with this. Women want to look natural, but sometimes it ends with tired look. You need just color. No matter what - red or pink, but use cosmetics, which has color. Remove cosmetics of «safe» colors. Do not be afraid, even the darkest makeup can be applied the way it would look “slightly transparent”.

7. You have not completed eye make-up

If you use wrong color of shadows, or if you applied them the wrong way, your eyes may look dry. Many women do not complete work on their eyelids. – They apply little shadows, without prime coating, and then wonder where shadows dissapear in two hours. Apply some priming on an eyelid. It will keep shadows and revitalize their color, what is especially important, if you use pale shadows, for example, the color of champagne, yellow-beige and brown.

The lighter shadows are, the drier they can look on your eyelids. They do not appear uniformly applied. If you like pale colors, use liner of deep dark color, even black. The line should be smooth and clear, right at the base of eyelashes. This will visually lengthen eyelashes (they will look volumetric) and highlight eye contours. Try using shadows of color you have not previously used, for example, the same color as your hair - the result will exceed all your expectations.

8. Your face is shining

Let us not confuse brilliance of beauty and shine of oily skin. Fat skin makes face dirty. Cosmetics gives skin glittering light.

• If you use blusher, apply them quickly from the bottom up, using a sponge. Do not apply them directly on skin, otherwise they will block up pores.

• If your face is shiny, use a semi-crumbly powder. Lightly powder face after applying makeup.

• Define your «problem» zones on face, and sop them with towels during a day. Most often, these are forehead, tip of nose, chin and eyelids.
